Van Doorne renews lease agreement at Zuiderhof 1, the Netherlands

Savills has successfully negotiated a lease renewal for Van Doorne N.V. at Zuiderhof 1, located at Jachthavenweg 121 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, for approximately 10,000 sq m of office space and 85 parking spaces.

The renegotiation is the result of an extensive Workplace Strategy process, which involved Savills performing a deep dive into Van Doorne's organisational DNA. The requirements programme and the need for greater flexibility and cross-team collaboration led to a more efficient office layout. Due to the building’s design, Van Doorne will remain the sole tenant in Building Section A, while Section B will be returned to the owner. Van Doorne will temporarily relocate to the adjacent Meerparc building to allow for the full renovation and sustainability upgrade of Zuiderhof 1.

Lotte de Jong, Head of Workplace Strategy at Savills Netherlands, says: "The lease renewal demonstrates the importance of conducting a thorough analysis of organisational culture and work processes. With these insights, we were able to provide a solution that improves space efficiency and contributes to a sustainable future for Van Doorne."

Sjoerd Kamerbeek, Managing Partner at Van Doorne, says: "Our collaboration with Savills has enabled us to create a future-proof workplace that aligns with our vision of flexible and multidisciplinary working. With our renovated and sustainable office building, we are providing an inspiring environment for our people and laying a strong foundation to continue guiding our clients with strategic advice and innovative solutions as they navigate the world of tomorrow."

Frans van Toor, CEO at First Sponsor Group, adds: "We are delighted to continue our partnership with Van Doorne at Zuiderhof 1. The renegotiation underscores our commitment to providing high-quality and sustainable office space that meets the evolving needs of our tenants."

Daphne Pronk, Head of Agency Offices Amsterdam at JLL, adds: "The transaction illustrates how landlords and tenants can work together to find innovative solutions that benefit both parties. First Sponsor Group’s willingness to renovate and future-proof the building, combined with Van Doorne’s long-term vision, has resulted in a win-win situation."

Savills acted as Van Doorne’s advisor. Landlord First Sponsor Group was assisted by JLL.
